How Mark Book's Bookmarks collects, uses, and protects your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Mark Book's Bookmarks family of apps — Mark Book's Recipes, Mark Book's Travels, and Mark Book's Music — and to this website (together, the "Services"), operated by Vendisa, Simon Vestdijkstraat 105, 3842 LK Harderwijk, the Netherlands ("we", "us", "our"). The Services are available to everyone.
1. Information we collect
- Account information you provide, such as your name and email address.
- Content you save, such as bookmarked recipes, destinations, tracks, and any notes or tags you add. This content is stored for your own personal use and is not shared with other users or made public.
- Usage statistics, collected through Google Analytics, to help us understand how the Services are used.
- Crash and diagnostic data, collected through Google Firebase, to help us find and fix crashes in the apps.
- Bug reports and contact messages you submit through this website, including any description, steps to reproduce, and contact details you provide.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To sync your bookmarks across your devices.
- To respond to contact messages and bug reports.
- To understand usage patterns and diagnose crashes, so we can improve the apps.
- To keep the Services secure and prevent misuse.
3. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website and app usage statistics.
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — crash and diagnostic reporting for the apps.
- Atlassian Jira (Atlassian) — tracking and resolving bugs you report to us.
These providers only process data on our instructions and are bound by their own confidentiality and data protection obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law.
4. Data retention
Usage statistics, crash/diagnostic data, and bug reports or contact messages are retained for 30 days. Content you save in the apps (recipes, destinations, tracks, notes) is retained for as long as your account remains active, and is deleted within a reasonable period after you delete your account or request deletion.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, use our contact form and select "Privacy request" as the topic. We respond within one month, as required by the GDPR. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
6. Cookies
This website uses cookies or local storage strictly necessary for it to function (for example, to remember your cookie choice). If you accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, we also load Google Analytics to measure site usage. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Availability to minors
The Services are available to everyone and are not specifically directed at children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us via our contact form so we can address it.
9. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws and regulations of the Netherlands.
